Assessments This School Year
Students take the Future Plans Career assessment which identifies their strengths, interests, personality, and work values, and then explore careers that are a fit for them. Each student meets one-on-one with a career coach to discuss their results and potential career paths, with the end goal of developing a career plan. Below is a list of schools in each county which are planning assessments for the 2023-24 school year.

County Highlights
Brown:
- 1 student from Brown County passed their coursework at the summer Bear Tracks program at Shawnee State University.
- Working with the Brown County ESC on an Escape to your Future event at the Brown County Fair.
- Denise Reading from Future Plans presented at the countywide ESC meeting, GRIT also had a table set up to advocate for assessing and coaching in the county.
- Brown County libraries used the Future Plans career assessment with their work experience summer students.
Clermont:
- 6 students from Clermont County passed their coursework at the summer Bear Tracks program at Shawnee State University.
- Collaborating with the Director of Business for Clermont Counties OMJ and Job & Family Services to build relationships with the Clermont businesses.
Highland:
- 11 students from Highland County passed their coursework at the summer Bear Tracks program at Shawnee State University.
- Grit presented at the Southern Ohio ESC with the director of the ACCESS committee Tim Dettwiller.
- Supported 2 Highland County Bear Track students into their full-time positions at the Highland County Chamber of Commerce and the Highland District Hospital.
- Worked with the ACCESS director and the county schools to embed the Future Plans assessment link into the county school Pathways platform.
- Completed an internship with the Appalachian Children’s Coalition and a student from Whiteoak.
- Completed an internship with the Whiteoak High School and a student in their IT department.

Business and Education Leaders to Come Together October 12 for Fifth Annual Aim Hire Workforce and Education Conference in Columbus
Business, education, political and community leaders from across Ohio will come together again this year for a statewide workforce and education summit to strengthen collaboration that will better prepare students for success.
The fifth annual Aim Hire Workforce and Education Conference, sponsored by Ohio Excels and the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, will be held on October 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hilton Columbus Downtown. Each year, the event attracts more than 500 leaders in an effort to help connect the dots to improving student success across our state.
