We’re thrilled to announce a brand-new partnership between HealthCorps, Future Plans – The GRIT Project, and Peebles High School, bringing an incredible leadership opportunity to the Ohio Valley School District! This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to Healthy Futures and Healthy Living, empowering students to lead healthier, more connected lives.
The journey kicked off in Mrs. Williams’ Healthy Communities classroom, where students joined forces to launch this leadership team. Guided by a monthly curriculum of inspiration and positivity, students will work to create a ripple effect of healthy habits across all grades, focusing on topics that truly matter.
February’s theme: Healthy Relationships. 💬💛
This month students will:
✨ Lead morning positive affirmations
✨ Curate an inspiring bulletin board message for the school
✨ Develop leadership skills and collaborate with peers
Regional Program Manager for HealthCorps, Wirty Penix, Peebles High School Educator, Mrs. Williams, and Future Plans – The GRIT Project Career Coordinator, Lisa Scott, are working closely to ignite this program and support our future leaders every step of the way.
This initiative not only encourages personal growth but also helps students build the skills they’ll need to lead their communities into the future.
A huge thank you to HealthCorps for providing this program at no cost, as well as to our amazing students, educators, administration, and everyone who made this possible! We can’t wait to see how our students grow and thrive through this exciting journey. 🌱
